The original shop
Collision Masters opened in Mission in 1996. We added a second shop in Edinburg later on, but Mission is still the main shop. Same family runs both.
You will find us at 2510 West Expressway 83. Newer signs and maps call the expressway Interstate 2. That name was approved in 2013, and I-2 runs along US 83 through Mission and east to Harlingen. If you can get on the expressway, you can get to us.
We are an I-CAR Gold Class shop. Every repair we do carries a lifetime warranty on our workmanship and the materials we use.
What our Mission body shop fixes
Most cars come to us after a wreck. Others come in with a hail dent, a long scrape down the side, a cracked windshield, or paint that has faded out. Here is what we handle under one roof:
- Frame and unibody straightening, measured against factory specs
- Panel and bumper replacement
- Single-panel paint or a full respray, color matched in our booth
- Paintless dent repair for hail and door dings, when the panel allows it
- Windshield replacement and glass repair
- Camera and sensor (ADAS) calibration
- Towing that answers 24 hours a day
Wrecks in Mission and on Shary Road
TxDOT counted 1,437 reported crashes inside Mission in 2024. Of those, 1,057 had no injuries. Those are the fender benders and rear-end hits that end up at a body shop instead of a hospital.
Shary Road (FM 494) is a work zone right now. The stretch between Mile 6 and Mile 7 is being widened. Work started in March 2025 and is set to finish around August 2027, with detours onto SH 107, Glasscock, Ware, and Conway. Lane shifts and sudden stops come with that. If you get hit in the work zone, get the police report and call us for the tow.
Hail in Mission
Mission gets real hail. On April 21, 2023, storm reports put hail the size of quarters up to tennis balls in Mission, and golf ball to baseball size in Peñitas, late in the afternoon.
After a storm, bring the car in and we will look it over for free. Where the metal and paint allow it, we push dents out with paintless dent repair and keep the factory finish. Panels that are too far gone get repaired and painted. Broken glass gets replaced in the same visit to the shop.
You pick the shop, not your insurer
Texas Insurance Code § 1952.301 says your insurance company can't limit your coverage to push you into a certain shop. The Texas Department of Insurance says it plainly: you have the right to choose the repair shop and parts for your vehicle.
We are not on any insurer's preferred shop list, and that is on purpose. We work for you. We write the estimate, send it to your adjuster, and keep you posted while the claim moves. If the job turns out to need more than the first estimate covered, like a calibration, we file the supplement. We use OEM parts on about 90% of repairs. If your insurer approves aftermarket parts, we tell you first and only use them if you agree.
Coming in from the western Valley
We fix cars for people all along the west end of the Valley: Palmview, Peñitas, La Joya, Sullivan City, and out to Rio Grande City and Roma in Starr County. We also take cars from Sharyland, Alton, and McAllen.
If the car can't be driven, call us. Our tow line answers 24 hours a day. When we do the repair, the tow is free, whether it is an insurance claim or you are paying yourself. That counts for a long tow in from Starr County too.

What Mission customers say
★ 4.3 from 95 Google reviews · Read them on Google
Got rear ended and got lucky enough to have my vehicle towed and serviced by collision masters in Mission. Since day one every one was very friendly. I was receiving updates throughout the whole process. I'd call for any update and my call felt welcomed. Even months after that I noticed small issues with my car they fixed it with a friendly attitude. They got my car looking good as new. Thank you!
Have been to Collision Masters twice and have had amazing experiences both times. The owner, Joel Garcia and his staff stayed open late to receive our vehicle each time and answered any and all questions in the process. We were updated on progress regularly by the knowledgeable staff and the staff were always very professional. This is not a place you ever plan on using, but if you ever need work done I would recommend them to any and everyone.
Great service, friendly respectful and timely. Honesty with customers goes a long way.

Mission shop FAQ
Where is your Mission body shop?
At 2510 West Expressway 83, Mission, TX 78572, on the expressway frontage. The expressway is US 83, also signed as Interstate 2. Tap Directions on this page for turn by turn from where you are.
How long does collision repair take?
It depends on the damage, how fast parts get here, and how fast the insurer approves the work. We won't guess before we see the car. Once the estimate is written, we can tell you what the repair involves, and we call you if anything changes along the way.
Should I take my car to the dealer for collision repair?
You can take it wherever you want. In Texas, you choose the shop. What matters is training and parts. We are I-CAR Gold Class, we use OEM parts on about 90% of repairs, and our work has a lifetime warranty. Get our estimate for free and compare.
How much does collision repair cost in Mission?
Every wreck is different, so we price it after we see it. The estimate is free and in writing. On a covered insurance claim, you normally pay your deductible and the insurer pays the rest of the approved repair.
Is a body shop the same thing as a collision center?
Mostly, yes. People use both names for the same kind of place. The better question is what the shop does itself. We straighten frames, replace panels, and paint in our own booth, and calibration happens at our shop with a technician we work with.
Do you take cars from Rio Grande City, Roma, and La Joya?
Yes. We tow across the Valley and statewide. Call (956) 519-8414 any hour. If we repair the car, the tow costs you nothing.
What are the hours at the Mission shop?
The shop is open Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5:30 PM and closed on weekends. The phone still answers 24 hours a day for towing.
