About

A family body shop, open since 1996.

We opened in Mission first and added a shop in Edinburg later. One family still runs both. Here is how we work and who you will deal with when your car comes in.

Our story

Mission first, then Edinburg

Collision Masters started as one shop on West Expressway 83 in Mission. That was 1996. Mission is still our main shop.

The second shop came later, out on Rooth Road in Edinburg. It runs on the same rules as the original, and the same family is in charge of it.

Joel Garcia Sr. is the owner, and Mission customers know him by name. Cruz Garcia runs the Edinburg shop. Joel Sr. is Cruz's father.

How we work

The rules we hold ourselves to

We stay off insurer shop lists

A lot of insurance companies keep a short list of body shops they steer claims to. We are on none of them, and we chose that. When your car is in our bay, you are the person we report to. Texas law is on your side here too. Section 1952.301 of the Texas Insurance Code bars your insurer from limiting your coverage to keep you from picking the repair shop. If you have a claim open, read how we handle insurance claims before you call.

Factory parts whenever we can get them

About 90% of our repairs go back together with OEM parts, the ones made by the company that built your car. Some insurers approve aftermarket or used parts instead. If yours does, we call you before anything is ordered. You decide. If you say no, we keep pushing for OEM.

A warranty that does not run out

Every repair we do carries a lifetime warranty on our workmanship and on the materials we use. If something we fixed is not right later on, bring the car back and tell us.

I-CAR Gold Class

We are an I-CAR Gold Class shop. If you want to know what that means for your repair, ask us at the counter.

You hear from us while the car is here

Nobody likes guessing where their car is. Customers write about it a lot. Mirella T. said of her repair in Mission: "He kept me updated on my vehicle even sent me pictures to see the work." Robert V. wrote after his Edinburg repair that "Celina and Lizette have great customer service and communication." Jim B. said the owner and crew waited past closing to take his car in, on both of his visits.

Want the full list of what we fix, including paint, glass, towing, and ADAS calibration? It is all on our services page.

This is Joel Garcia Sr.'s shop. Ricardo S. put it simply back in 2019: "Joel knows his stuff." Miriam S. called on a weekend the second time her family needed a body shop. She wrote that "Mr. Garcia quickly answered. His first question was 'are you okay?'"

Cruz Garcia runs Edinburg. Reviewers call him the owner or the shop manager. Celina works the office, and about 15 Edinburg reviews mention her by name. Guillermo G. wrote that the shop "even arranged my rental car pickup and drop-off" while his truck was in for a week.

More on the Edinburg shop

Both shops keep the same weekday hours, Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5:30 PM, and both are closed on weekends. The tow line is the exception. It answers at any hour.
