A busy county seat means a lot of fender benders

Edinburg is the Hidalgo County seat, and it keeps growing. The 2020 Census counted 100,243 people here, about 30% more than in 2010. More people means more cars on the same roads.

TxDOT counted 2,407 crashes inside Edinburg city limits in 2024. Mission, where our first shop is, had 1,437. Of the Edinburg crashes, 1,550 had no injuries at all. Those are the ones that usually end up at a body shop: a crushed bumper, a pushed-in door, a bent wheel. That is most of what we see on Rooth Road.

Body shop, collision center, auto body: we do all of it

People search for a body shop, a collision center, or auto body repair, and they mean the same thing. They want the car fixed right after a wreck. We handle the structural side and the cosmetic side under one roof.

On the structural side, we straighten frames and unibodies and measure them against factory specs. The job is not done until the frame is back in tolerance. We are an I-CAR Gold Class shop. On the cosmetic side, we do paint with computer color matching, panel and bumper replacement, and paintless dent repair where the panel allows it. If a crash knocked a camera or sensor out of line, we calibrate it before the car leaves.

Students, commuters, and the northern Valley

UTRGV had 35,812 students across the university in fall 2025, and the school says most of them take their classes in Edinburg. A lot of them are driving SH 107 and I-69C every day, and for some it is their first wreck. If that is you, call us. We will explain what happens with the insurance, what the estimate means, and what you need to decide.

We also see commuters from the towns north and east of us. People bring cars in from Alamo, San Juan, Pharr, Donna, Hidalgo, Weslaco, and Mercedes. If your car cannot be driven, our tow truck can bring it in, and the tow is free when we do the repair.

Hail is part of living here

On the evening of May 8, 2025, a storm dropped golf ball size hail southwest of Edinburg. A 2 inch hailstone was measured near Dove and McColl. Back on March 29, 2012, golf ball hail was reported at 107 and Ware Road, close to where our shop sits today.

When hail hits, we look at every panel. Shallow dents can often be pushed out with paintless dent repair, which keeps the factory paint. Deeper damage gets body work and paint. We write it all up for your adjuster.

Your insurance, your choice of shop, factory parts

Texas law (Insurance Code section 1952.301) says your insurer cannot limit your coverage to keep you from picking the repair shop. You can bring the car to us even if the adjuster names a different shop. We are not on any insurer's preferred-shop list, and that is on purpose. We work for you.

We use OEM factory parts on about 90% of repairs. If your insurer approves aftermarket parts, we tell you first and only use them if you agree. One Edinburg customer, Alyssa P., wrote: "Insurance wanted me to repair my vehicle with a used door but Cruz and his staff fought to get me ALL OEM parts." Another, Janelle S., wrote: "Cruz and Celina were very helpful and kept me udated throughout process." The shop holds 4.8 stars from 108 Google reviews.

My car looks great! Insurance wanted me to repair my vehicle with a used door but Cruz and his staff fought to get me ALL OEM parts. He showed me all the documentation of why its not safe and insurance finally agreed. Thank you, CM and I highly recommend!

Celina did an amazing job fighting against the insurance on making sure they used all OEM parts on my vehicle! She was so helpful and informative along the whole process! Cruz helped me understand the repair process and how i could request a diminished value payment from the insurance company. My car looks great-I had a great experience! Highly recommend!

Questions

Edinburg shop questions

How much does collision repair cost in Edinburg?

It depends on the damage, the parts, and whether a sensor needs calibration. We do not guess over the phone. Bring the car to 11700 Rooth Road and we will write a free estimate with the full cost in writing.

How long will my car be in the shop?

That depends on the damage, how fast parts arrive, and how quickly the insurance approves the work. We give you the plan at the estimate and call you if anything changes. We would rather tell you the truth than promise a date we cannot keep.

Is there a difference between a body shop and a collision center?

Not much in practice. Both names mean a shop that fixes a car after a wreck. What matters is whether the shop can do frame and structural work as well as paint. We do both, and we are I-CAR Gold Class.

Should I take my car to the dealer for collision repair?

You can, and you can also choose an independent shop like ours. Texas lets you pick the shop. We use factory OEM parts on about 90% of repairs, and every repair has a lifetime warranty on workmanship and materials.

Does my insurance company get to pick my body shop?

No. Under Texas Insurance Code section 1952.301, your insurer cannot limit your coverage to stop you from choosing the shop. Tell your adjuster you want Collision Masters in Edinburg and we will send them the estimate.

Where is the Edinburg shop and when are you open?
